I'd read the bad reviews, yet still felt curious- not just to see Kevin Kline play the renowned Errol Flynn but also to see how a big "no-no" in Hollywood in the nineteen-fifties might play for us today. I am moved to write: I thought the film was very well done. Mind you, the story is a bit sordid... but life does not always have to follow our preconceived notions of how such a relationship could only end up in the worst of all failures. You see, this is the tale of a well-known lothario-- at forty-eight years old-- catching sight of a young woman -strolling innocently on a Hollywood lot on her way to rehearsal for a chorus part in a movie. ...
